Meet Our Leadership Team

Ryan Murphy – Owner/President

Ryan Murphy is the President and Owner of Around Town Movers. Around Town Movers acquired Campbell Moving, Inc. in 2023. Ryan has proudly called Virginia home since transplanting here in the early 1990s. Driven by a commitment to serve his country, Ryan joined the Army as a helicopter pilot, completing tours of duty in Iraq and twice in Afghanistan. He continued his service in Military Intelligence before retiring from the US Army after a distinguished 20-year career that taught him the value of precision, leadership, and adapting to changing conditions – skills that translate perfectly to running a successful moving and storage company.

Seeking to continue making an impact and serving his community in civilian life, Ryan was drawn to small business ownership, where he could directly influence customer experiences and build a company culture based on the same values of integrity and excellence that defined his military career. When not at the helm of Around Town Movers, Ryan cherishes time with his beautiful wife and four children, as well as his faithful canine companions Poppy and Daisy. Both family and dogs can often be found at the office- a testament to the family-oriented business environment Ryan has cultivated, where clients aren’t just customers, but neighbors whose transitions to new homes merit the same care and attention he would give his own family’s move.

Wayne (“Doc”) Brown – General Manager

Born and raised in Tennessee, Wayne served as a combat medic in the Gulf War—where he mastered working fast under pressure. After the Army, he spent 15 years managing over 25,000 global relocations in the corporate world before joining Campbell Moving in 2013 as Vice President. Now our General Manager, Wayne brings over 25 years of industry experience to every move. He has experience in all aspects of corporate relocation, global mobility, and move management. His expertise in coordinating seamless relocations ensures that you receives the highest level of service and attention to detail, making every move as stress-free as possible.
